      TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:

  • "All people have inate musical ability and creative gifts.
My purpose as a teacher is to help each person develop their

unique natural vocal, instrumental, and songwriting talents

and to gain greater awareness of self and the possibilities in

    and around us.

When we access our deepest creativity and give voice to our truths, we tap into a greater intelligence.
Health improves, attitudinal barriers dissolve, joy springs up, good things happen for us and those around us.

When we dare to sing, we return to a source of well-being which is everyone's birthright.

We learn to summon courage with greater ease and to listen more fully, developing a balance of patience and adventure, receptivity and generosity that serve to stregthen and add delight to all arenas of life.

Confidence comes from incremental mastery and from small accomplishments that can be repeated and built upon.

My approach is to meet each person on their own terms, inviting the singer within to experiment, learn and express, finding the freedom and trust that comes with authenticity.

Whether we work 1:1 or in groups, the emphasis is always on:

    • respecting inherent strengths
    • expanding awareness
    • deepening knowledge and mastery
    • improving technique
    • building physical and emotional stamina

    • strengthening stage presence

    • awakening and communing with the source of song
    • gaining support for ongoing practice

As a teacher and consultant, I work with people of all walks and styles of life, from the very young to the very old.

I always learn from and with those I teach and have been doing so for more than 30 years.

    My students and clients include:

    • beginners, even those at the threshold of making a sound

    • emerging performers, songwriters, and artists

    • musicians returning to practice after a while elsewhere

    • professionals preparing for concerts, tours and recordings

    • individuals and organizations seeking to expand creativity,    and ease of communication and expression, personally, and in the workplace.

Our work together is shaped by what's needed. I offer:

    • individual coaching sessions

    • small group classes

    • workshops

    • master classes

In conjunction with associates, I create unique interactive
    and educational experiences including:
