In this free 18-minute conversation, we explore how your deeper purpose, creative gifts, skills, empowerment, and transformation can be supported by the work we do together. Or how artistic expression and experience can enhance vitality, confidence, and breakthroughs for those you love and serve.
We’ll get clear on how and whether what I offer can serve you, and begin to map out a path to your vision and goals.

After an initial consultation, we craft a coaching or mentoring power plan that suits your specific needs.
Individual coaching or mentoring begins with an initial assessment and activation session (90 mins).
We meet one-to-one via zoom, assess your needs, resources, and desires, determine your focus and design a plan to support and sustain your progress and breakthroughs. Individual coaching can then take place in single follow-up sessions or in a series of three, five, ten, or more sessions (either 60 or 90mins).
In each series, we design an arc of transformation focusing on a short term goal or opening new vistas of empowerment and possibility. The “Free Your Voice/Speak (or Sing) Your Truth” series can also include hands-on studio time in-session and specific accountability structures between sessions to increase your confidence, courage, and breakthroughs — from fulfilling a dream project to expanding skills and artistic satisfaction.
Consulting and special projects start with a short discovery call in which we determine your project needs and scope. We then meet to develop a timeline and detailed plan to fulfill your project’s intention. I bring my 35 years of expertise and a range of research-vetted solutions and resources to support the success of your already established program or agency, or your new endeavor. (Some examples, below.*)
Consulting can include production support, curriculum design, training, facilitated community-engagement arts experiences, performative events, commissions, exhibits, festivals, publications, or supporting your teams’ creativity.
Immersive coaching for women: For those interested in blending Dr. Claire Zammit’s 7-week Feminine Power for the Awakening Woman course at your own pace, with coaching and guidance from me, there are 3 spaces currently available.

In this initial 90-minute activation session we will discuss your goals, visions, and areas of priority for Breakthrough. You’ll describe your current zones of experience, artistic and otherwise, and we’ll assess your creative resources. I'll guide you in creating your 2024 breakthrough action plan with a step-by-step map to a specific, measurable creative–or life–goal: the breakthrough you wish to achieve. Together, we'll identify needs, tools, exercises, and resources to support your success. Toward the end of the session we’ll explore next steps including the individual package, creative group cohort, or combination of resources that can best support you to fulfill your vision and have a breakthrough year in 2024.
Note, this Activation session is a pre-requisite for continuing with single coaching or mentoring sessions or with 3, 5, and 10 session coaching packages. This individual Activation session is not required for the Creative Breakthrough Cohorts in the Your Breakthrough Year program, however this session can be added to enhance decision-making or to customize your Breakthrough plan, following the free 15-minute breakthrough call.
The Activation session price will be applied toward fees for any continuing program I offer in 2024, including the 3-, 5- and 10-session coaching or mentoring packages, and Creative Breakthrough Cohorts.

Judith-Kate offers mentoring for songwriters, performers, emerging mythtellers, community/social practice and multi-modal artists.
She currently has openings for three adults and three teen/young adult mentees.
Mentorships are co-created specific to your focus. Formats can include in-person private sessions (1-3hrs), online zoom calls (60-90mins), and small group workshops with fellow artist-mentees. Frequency can be monthly or weekly. Pricing is based upon individual coaching rates.
Each mentorship begins with an individual Breakthrough Coaching session in which we assess the suitability of a mentorship for your needs and vision. -
Sessions can be expanded to include loved ones, clients, and constituents. Create a couple or small group package and support your transformation expontentially!

Judith-Kate offers small group coaching and mentoring for community teaching artists and students of socially-engaged arts.
Mentoring can include elements of any Teaching Artist Training or the full trainings and can be integrated into undergraduate and graduate-level curriculum.
Past clients include the University of Cincinnati Schools of Music and of Medicine (OH) and Arts WA (the Washington State Arts Commission).
Sessions can take place online (zoom) or in person. Specific mentoring project design is determined in collaboration with hosting agency and funding partners.

An immersive training for teaching artists at all levels of experience who wish to more deeply serve their students and constituents across the continuum of physical, cognitive and emotional health.
Judith-Kate has taught extensively on best practices working with older adults and intergenerational groups using the Songwriting Works™ method which she originated in 1990.
The success of this research-vetted process with more than 3500 participants gave rise to the non-profit Songwriting Works Educational Foundation. 8 Principles is the core Songwriting Works™ training for facilitators and is applicable to teaching artists working in all modalities.

Judith-Kate Friedman co-founded and co-directed the Psalms, Songs and Stories™ (PS&S) project with Rabbi Sheldon Marder at the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (2003-2019).
The experience brings participants on a journey into one or more liturgical texts through diverse translations and related artwork. They then co-compose original musical compositions using the Songwriting Works™ approach.
PS&S™ is now available as a co-facilitated experience in which Judith-Kate and a clergy person or scholar well-versed in Psalms or other wisdom literature collaborate together to serve specific community needs.
Past projects have engaged elder Jews (average age 88) residing in long-term care settings , rabbinical students and community elders co-writing together, congregants of all ages composing songs for holidays, and interfaith groups using the study and songwriting experience to share diverse perspectives, listen deeply to each other, and turn their heartfelt understandings into memorable songs.

An immersive experience in mythopoetics (myth-making) based upon the teachings of mythsinger Daniel Deardorff (1952-2019).
Join Judith-Kate Friedman for a journey into Deardorff’s memory-awakening approach to mythtelling and into the ancient stories he carried.
As steward of the Mythsinger Legacy Project, and Deardorff’s life partner for 14 years, Judith-Kate is representing his book The Other Within: The Genius of Deformity in Myth, Culture & Psyche (3rd ed., Inner Traditions, 2022) and crafting myth-centered events and workshops for communities worldwide.
