What clients are saying:

Judith-Kate’s sessions opened energetic and creative portals within me that are already manifesting change and new possibilities and awareness in my life.
— —M.G., Multi-modal artist and arts educator, NY, US
I’m touched by Judith-Kate’s unswerving commitment to creative expression, inclusion, radical acceptance, kindness and community upliftment. She is championing a part of me she doesn’t even fully know yet. I love being in her orbit as she is committed to excellence and yet is so human and accessible.
— L.B., Executive Coach and Consultant, CA, US
Working with Judith-Kate changed my life. She tends to the fullness of the person. As one on her own self-work journey, she has been able to lovingly and honestly point out when my still-often-unconscious woundings of ‘taking on too much’ or ‘taking on what isn’t mine’ were coming into play.
— A.D., Multi-Modal Artist, Facilitator, NY, US

“Each of us holds a part of the great puzzle of what’s needed at this time for the well-being of all. As we honor all of who we are, personally, and as a society, everyone wins.”

Creative Leadership
Consulting and Mentoring
for community teaching artists

  • As founder of the internationally acclaimed Songwriting Works™ approach to well-being through collective songwriting and performance, Judith-Kate Friedman offers individual coaching and mentoring for teaching artists working in the “creative aging” space and those bringing hope and joy to families and communities through song.

Mentorships are most frequently one-to-one but can be designed in small group, master class, and staff training formats.

Sessions can take place online or in person (travel costs additional).

Mentorships can also be integrated into undergraduate and graduate-level curriculum or agency training and internship programs. Each mentorship or internship is designed in collaboration with hosting agency(s) and funding partners.

Past clients include the University of Cincinnati Schools of Music and of Medicine (OH) and Arts WA (the Washington State Arts Commission).

  • Judith-Kate Friedman co-founded and co-directed the Psalms, Songs and Stories™ project with Rabbi Sheldon Marder at the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (2003-2019).

The program is now available as a co-facilitated experience in which Judith-Kate and a clergy person or scholar well-versed in Psalms or other wisdom literature collaborate together to serve specific community needs in a one or two day workshop or a series of sessions (online or in person).

The experience brings participants on a journey into one or more liturgical texts through diverse translations and related artwork. They then co-compose original musical compositions using the Songwriting Works™ approach.

Past projects have engaged elder Jews (average age 88) residing in long-term care settings , rabbinical students and community elders co-writing together, congregants of all ages composing songs for holidays, and interfaith groups using the study and songwriting experience to share diverse perspectives, listen deeply to each other, and turn their heartfelt understandings into memorable songs.

All arrangements are made in collaboration with Project host(s). Pricing varies.
