An afternoon with Judith-Kate Friedman. Original song, poetry, improvisation, and a mythic story, followed by conversation on the importance of the arts in our times.
Judith-Kate Friedman is an award-winning vocalist, songwriter, and producer, a poet, writer, cantorial soloist, and champion for the creative voice in each of us. Informed by her Yiddish Ashkenazi heritage, the landscapes of NYC and the Pacific Northwest, and decades co-writing songs with elders and youth of diverse cultures across the cognitive, physical, and emotional health continuum, her songs spring from folk, blues, jazz, and jewish roots, close listening, and an ever-deepening respect and awareness of kinship with the Living World.
