Join Judith-Kate Friedman, Mythsinger Legacy Project steward and life partner of Daniel Deardorff (1952-2019) for a 3-part Master Class and Creative Deep Dive into Stories from The Other Within. We’ll draw upon ancient myths and teachings from Daniel Deardorff's book The Other Within: The Genius of Deformity in Myth, Culture and Psyche, 3rd. ed. as we journey into the other-worlds as only myth can make possible. As we gather and go together, we’ll form a short-term cohort with opportunity to stay connected after the class. By request, each session will be three hours, giving ample time for creative responses and connection with each other.
THERE WILL BE THREE DISTINCT SESSIONS (Plan to Attend All 3 for the full 3 hours):

In each session we'll:
• Set ceremonial space in which we'll meet each other, listen deeply, and honor the teachings.
• Hear Daniel Deardorff's telling of a story which appears in his book The Other Within: The Genius of Deformity in Myth, Culture, and Psyche (Inner Traditions, 2022). There'll be a new tale each week, each from very different parts of the world, each told by Daniel beaming in on audio, and from the pages of his book and teachings.
• After we listen, we'll feed the story that has so generously fed us, with extended time for personal reflection, creative expressive responses (drawing, movement, poetry, song, fiber, etc.) and sharing with each other.
